Whitney Port, the 38-year-old reality star, recently sought treatment from a therapist to address her mental health issues. Concern arose when her husband, Tim Rosenman, commented on her snap in a bikini, stating that she appeared “too thin.” Following the advice of a friend, Port decided to consult with an expert and discovered that her problems may be linked to mental health.
During an episode of her podcast ‘With Whit,’ Port revealed that her best friend Andrea had been worried about her but only spoke up after she posted on social media. Port explained that although no one in her family had been officially diagnosed, she had witnessed behaviors indicative of depression. This led her to believe that it may be a part of her innate nature.
The therapist shed light on the various challenges she had faced throughout her life, including being in the public eye from a young age, her father’s passing, her aunt’s suicide, her mother’s depression, and multiple miscarriages. Port acknowledged that these environmental factors had contributed to her feelings of depression.
Addressing her fluctuating weight, Port expressed that it may not be a result of an eating disorder. Instead, she believes that it stems from a gradual erosion of her self-confidence over the years. Port felt empowered after the therapist reassured her that she did not have an eating disorder.
