American actress Uma Thurman is widely respected and considered an icon in Hollywood. She is known for her roles in “Pulp Fiction” and the “Kill Bill” series. Recently, Thurman revealed that she had been sexually assaulted by disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.
In a conversation with The New York Times, Thurman shared details of an attempted sexual assault that took place in Weinstein’s suite at London’s Savoy Hotel in the mid-1990s. She described the incident as a shocking betrayal, with Weinstein pushing her down and attempting to expose himself. Despite his aggressive actions, Thurman managed to escape his advances.
Thurman also recounted another encounter with Weinstein in a Paris hotel room, where he was wearing a bathrobe. At the time, she didn’t feel threatened and assumed he was just being eccentric. However, she later realized the seriousness of his behavior.
During her discussion, Thurman mentioned that after the incident in London, Weinstein sent her a bouquet of yellow roses as a gesture. However, she regarded it with disgust, seeing it as a twisted attempt to manipulate her.
At one point, Thurman decided to confront Weinstein at the Savoy Hotel, accompanied by a friend for support. She initially planned to meet him in the hotel bar but was convinced by Weinstein’s assistants to go to his room alone. Thurman warned him that if he continued his misconduct with other women, he would face severe consequences.
Thurman expressed her complicated feelings towards Harvey Weinstein, acknowledging the guilt she feels for the women who were attacked after her. She believes that her association with Weinstein through the “Kill Bill” movies may have influenced other women to enter his room, naively trusting his intentions. Ultimately, Thurman recognizes the need to hold him accountable for his actions.
