Tinashe, the 30-year-old singer, used to dream of becoming a chef. However, she revealed that if her music career didn’t take off, she would’ve pursued her dream of becoming a professional chef. In an interview with Us Weekly, she expressed her love for cooking and mentioned that her favorite show is “MasterChef”. She even stated that if she wasn’t a singer, she would definitely be a chef.
When it comes to her favorite type of cuisine, Tinashe has a strong affinity for Mexican dishes. She loves cooking delicious tacos for herself and her friends, and used to host large Taco Tuesday parties where she would show off her culinary skills. Not only does she enjoy cooking at home, but she also loves dining out at Mexican restaurants. One of her personal favorites in Los Angeles is Pepe’s Mexican, where she always orders tacos.
Interestingly, despite her love for flavorful dishes, Tinashe confessed that she isn’t a fan of condiments. She dislikes mustard and mayo, preferring her food to be plain.
In addition to her passion for music and cooking, Tinashe also finds self-expression through fashion. She described herself as laid-back when it comes to her everyday style, but enjoys being creative and adventurous with fashion when it comes to expressing her art. Whether it’s on stage or in a music video, she sees fashion as a means of storytelling and translating her art.
Despite receiving acclaim from critics for her music, Tinashe emphasized that she doesn’t need external validation to feel satisfied. She believes fulfillment comes from within, at a core level. Over time, she has also learned to trust her instincts and follow her gut feelings, as she believes they will always lead her in the right direction. She recognizes that not doing so can be detrimental to her in the long term.
