Sharon Osbourne has revealed that the secret to her 41-year marriage to Ozzy Osbourne is their acceptance of each other’s “oddball” nature. The former host of ‘The Talk’ (70) spoke about her relationship with the 74-year-old Black Sabbath frontman, as they celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on 4 July. They tied the knot on the same date in 1982 in Hawaii.
In an interview with E! News, Sharon Osbourne highlighted their uniqueness, saying, “We’re both oddballs. I may appear normal in the way I dress, but ‘normal’ is not a word I use often.”
The couple faced various challenges throughout their marriage, including Ozzy’s struggles with substance abuse and their temporary separation in 2016 due to his infidelity. But Sharon emphasized that no relationship is easy and requires effort. “It’s not been easy… You get your ugly times, your bad times, and your horrific times. But if you love each other enough, you’ll work through it,” she said.
Sharon also had to support Ozzy during his difficult times, such as when he was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 due to his substance abuse issues. Reflecting on their bond, she stated, “We’re cut from the same mold,” and emphasized the importance of accepting people as they are. According to her, love means accepting both the good and the bad and not trying to change someone.
In recent news, Sharon expressed her desire for Ozzy to move back to London after living in the United States for many years. Ozzy confirmed their plans on their family podcast, ‘The Osbournes’, saying they had been planning the move for the past four years. However, Sharon added, “This is what I’ve learned – you can’t plan anything.”
As a mother of three, including daughter Aimee (40) and two other children, Kelly (38) and Jack (37), with Ozzy, Sharon wants to return to England to give her husband the opportunity to live his life. She believes they can have more freedom and do what they want in their home country.
