Riley Keough Assumes Sole Trustee Role Over Lisa Marie Presley’s Estate
In a significant development following her legal battle, Riley Keough, acclaimed actress and daughter of late icon Lisa Marie Presley, has been appointed as the exclusive trustee of her mother’s estate. The decision, sanctioned by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lynn Healey Scaduto on August 4th, is outlined in official court documents retrieved by Deadline. Riley, renowned for her role in “Daisy Jones and the Six,” now holds the authority over not only her mother’s estate but also the sub-trusts for her younger twin sisters, Harper and Finley.
The legal saga emerged after Lisa Marie Presley’s untimely demise in January at the age of 54. Riley’s appointment comes after weeks of uncertainty surrounding Lisa Marie’s will, challenged by Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie’s mother. Priscilla contended that an amendment from 2016, designating Riley and her late brother Benjamin as trustees in place of Priscilla, was inauthentic, alleging a lack of proper witnessing and notarization. Ultimately, Riley and Priscilla found common ground, leading to Riley’s designation as the sole trustee, and Priscilla receiving a one-time sum of $1 million.
As Riley steps into her new role, harmony has been restored within the family. Priscilla expressed her satisfaction, stating, “My family has resolved all confusion as it relates to our plea to the court and request for document interpretation after my daughter Lisa Marie’s untimely passing. … As a family, we are pleased that we resolved this together.”
This newfound agreement also paved the way for a heartwarming reunion between Priscilla and Riley, who recently celebrated the middle school graduation of Harper and Finley. The two generations came together, sharing an Instagram moment, as Priscilla proudly congratulated the twins’ milestone achievement.
