Issa Rae’s ‘Rap Sh!t’ Season 2 Premiere Gets a New Date Amid Strikes
Fans of the hit comedy series ‘Rap Sh!t’ will have to exercise some patience as the Season 2 premiere on Max has been rescheduled to Thursday, November 9. Originally slated for August 10, the new date offers hope for a resolution to both the actors and writers strikes, allowing the cast and creators to celebrate the new season together.
The highly anticipated second season will kick off with two back-to-back episodes, followed by weekly releases leading up to the thrilling season finale on December 21.
‘Rap Sh!t’ revolves around two estranged high school friends from Miami, Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion), who reunite to form a rap group. As their journey to fame unfolds, Shawna and Mia find themselves at a crossroads, grappling with whether to remain true to their authentic selves or succumb to the pressures of the music industry.
The show boasts a talented cast, including Jonica Booth as Chastity, RJ Cyler as Lamont, and Daniel Augustin as Maurice.
Created and executive produced by the incomparable Issa Rae for Hoorae, ‘Rap Sh!t’ is brought to life with Syreeta Singleton as the showrunner and executive producer, alongside Dave Becky and Jonathan Berry for 3 Arts Entertainment and Jim Kleverweis.
Adding even more star power, hip-hop duo Yung Miami and JT of City Girls serve as co-executive producers, joined by Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas for Quality Control Films. Sara Rastogi and Jax Clark contribute their expertise from Hoorae Rae’s Audio Everywhere Company, while Raedio handles the music supervision for the series.
