Singer Miley Cyrus was in South Africa filming scenes for the series ‘Black Mirror’ when her $2.525 million Malibu home burned down in the 2018 Woolsey fire. She was shooting for her role as Ashley O in the ‘Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too’ episode of the Netflix anthology sci-fi horror series.
In an episode of her new TikTok series ‘Used to Be Young’, Cyrus shared her experience, stating that she didn’t initially understand the anxiety attacks she was having with visions of being strapped to a gurney. However, she later realized that while her house was burning down, she was actually restrained and handcuffed to a bed.
Even though her home was destroyed, Cyrus showed resilience by continuing to film the day after the incident for her pop star character’s fictional music video ‘On a Roll’. She expressed the sentiment that the show must go on.
Miley Cyrus and her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth used to live in the Malibu property that was lost in the California wildfires five years ago. Despite their split, she still holds fond memories of that home. In a recent TikTok video, she mentioned that the ‘Meet Miley Cyrus’ record was where she began writing her own solo songs and that living in the Malibu house had a significant impact on her life.
