Chris Evans was surprised when Michael Cera revived the group chat for the film ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. The World’ after a nine-year hiatus. The two actors, along with several others, had starred in the 2010 comic book comedy directed by Edgar Wright. The email chain had been inactive for years, so it was a shock when Michael responded to a meme someone had sent as if no time had passed. Chris Evans jokingly questioned Michael’s response, and as a result, the cast started chatting again.
This coincided with the announcement of a new ‘Scott Pilgrim Takes Off’ anime series on Netflix, which will feature the original cast reprising their roles in voice form. Michael may have brought back the email chain, but he revealed that he was not part of the ‘Barbie’ movie group chat. This chat included all the actors who played Barbies and Kens in the film, such as Margot Robbie, Simu Liu, and Ryan Gosling. Michael explained that he doesn’t own a smartphone and that his character in the movie, Allen, is in his own little world.
Furthermore, Michael stated that his decision not to join Instagram or Twitter was not a deliberate one, but rather a lack of interest. He mentioned that since everyone else uses social media, not joining feels like a significant choice, but it simply doesn’t pique his interest.
