Pregnant Kourtney Kardashian is feeling a sense of relief now that her recent medical emergency is behind her. The reality TV star, who is expecting her first child with husband Travis Barker, recently underwent emergency fetal surgery but has since been discharged from the hospital and is now in recovery.
An insider shared with Us Weekly, “Kourtney had a very terrifying medical situation, so she is incredibly happy to have moved past it and relieved that it’s all in the past now. Travis has returned to his tour because Kourtney is doing much better, and they are both very grateful that this ordeal is over.”
Travis Barker, who temporarily postponed some dates on Blink-182’s European tour to be by Kourtney’s side when she was hospitalized, has now resumed his responsibilities with the band since Kourtney’s health has improved.
Kourtney took to Instagram to express her gratitude, saying, “I will be forever thankful to my amazing doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband, who rushed to my side from tour and took care of me during and after the hospital stay. He’s my rock. And to my mom Kris Jenner, thank you for being there for me through it all.”
Reflecting on her experience, Kourtney shared, “As someone who had three uncomplicated pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear that comes with needing urgent fetal surgery. Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy safely in my tummy was truly a blessing.”
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Travis Barker expressed his gratitude, writing, “God is great. I flew home for a life-threatening emergency surgery for our baby, and I am so grateful that it went well. Thank you to everyone for the support.”
While Kourtney has successfully overcome this difficult situation, she opened up to close friends about her overwhelming fear during the process. A source told PEOPLE, “[She] was very scared after learning that her baby required surgery. She didn’t feel comfortable discussing the details at the time.”
