According to a report by TMZ, Kevin Federline is considering taking his ex-wife Britney Spears to court to ask for more child support. Currently, Kevin receives $40,000-a-month in child support, but this amount is based on the assumption that both parents have equal custody of their sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. However, in reality, the boys have been living solely with their father for the past few years.
On September 14, Sean Preston, the couple’s eldest son, will turn 18, which is the age when financial support typically ends. Britney’s contributions towards Jayden’s support are expected to continue until he graduates high school in June 2025.
The current arrangement between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline was established after their divorce and prior to the 2008 conservatorship, which granted Britney’s father, Jamie Spears, the authority over her financial, health, and personal decisions. This conservatorship was officially terminated in November 2021.
In August, Kevin, who also has two children with his previous partner Shar Jackson, moved his entire family to Hawaii with his wife Victoria. Britney did not oppose this decision.
Britney, who recently filed for divorce from her husband Sam Asghari, was reportedly relieved to learn that the child support payments for Sean will soon come to an end. A source revealed, “Britney is tired of paying Kevin the excessive amount of money he is receiving.”
