Jamie Lynn Spears, the 32-year-old actress, will be participating in the upcoming season of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ alongside her dance partner Alan Bersten. As part of her involvement in the show, she has decided to donate her salary to the actors’ union SAG-AFTRA and the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) in support of the ongoing Hollywood strikes.
During an interview on ‘Good Morning America’, Jamie Lynn Spears shared her reasoning behind the donation, stating, “While everyone else in my community is on strike, I have been given this unique opportunity to work when others cannot. So, I thought I would take advantage of it and give back to SAG, WGA, and support them during this time.”
The ‘Sweet Magnolias’ star, who is a mother to two children, Maddie and Ivey, expressed her excitement about the show while also acknowledging that she may not be fully prepared. She said, “I don’t think it’s possible to be 100 percent ready, but I am ready to challenge myself and see what I can do.”
Her older daughter, Maddie, has been supportive and is excited to see her mother take on this new endeavor. Jamie Lynn Spears shared, “She’s an athlete, so I think she wants to see me push myself and accomplish something new.”
Alan Bersten, her dance partner, praised Jamie Lynn’s work ethic during their first rehearsal, describing her as hard-working and dedicated. He expressed his excitement about their collaboration, saying, “We get along so well, and it’s actually a lot of fun to work together.”
So far, Ariana Madix from ‘Vanderpump Rules’ and Charity Lawson from ‘The Bachelorette’ have also been announced as participants in the new series. The full lineup will be revealed on Wednesday.
