Over the past few days, veteran Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah has faced criticism for his controversial remarks about “The Kerala Story,” “Gadar 2,” and “The Kashmir Files.” In an interview, Shah expressed his concerns about the current films dominating the box office, calling them disturbing. However, “The Kashmir Files” director Vivek Agnihotri wasted no time in criticizing Shah, even bringing up his religious background. Now, the director of Sunny Deol’s upcoming film “Gadar 2” has also joined in to offer his perspective.
In response to Shah’s comments, the director of “The Kashmir Files” stated that he supports terrorists and is content with making films that promote genocide. He added that he doesn’t care about Shah’s opinion because he himself has zero tolerance for terrorism.
While addressing the issue, “Gadar” director Anil Sharma expressed his surprise at Shah’s statement during an interview with Aaj Tak. Sharma highlighted his familiarity with Shah and the shared ideology they have. He stated that he found it astonishing that Shah would make such comments about “Gadar 2.” Sharma clarified that the film is not against any community or country, emphasizing that it embodies a patriotic spirit. He described it as a typical masala film that has been enjoyed by audiences for years.
Sharma urged Shah to watch “Gadar 2” and assured him that it would change his perception. He expressed his admiration for Shah’s acting skills and requested him to give the film a chance. Sharma emphasized that his filmmaking has always aimed to provide entertainment rather than promote any political agenda, and Shah is well aware of this.
In addition to Sharma, Nana Patekar also criticized Naseeruddin Shah and questioned his understanding of nationalism.
