Corey Feldman has officially filed for legal separation from his estranged wife, Courtney Anne Mitchell. Last month, the ‘Goonies’ actor had announced their split after six years of marriage and now he’s taking the necessary steps to make it official. However, it’s important to note that he is not seeking a divorce.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, Corey stated irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation and mentioned that they had officially separated on June 22nd of this year. He also expressed his intention to prevent the court from awarding Courtney any spousal support.
In their initial announcement of the split, Corey and his estranged wife cited various factors, including the ongoing medical problems that Courtney has been facing. Corey emphasized that despite the separation, they still have love and respect for each other. He explained that their growing apart was a result of the hardships they faced, particularly Courtney’s health issues, which led them to a crossroads in their relationship.
Additionally, Courtney has been touring with Corey’s band, but she has decided to step back from their current concert schedule due to her health concerns and the need for healing. Corey expressed his love for her and requested prayers for her speedy recovery. He acknowledged that they can’t predict the future, but their love for each other remains strong.
Courtney, in her own statement, expressed her deep sadness over the separation and emphasized that she will always love Corey. She cherished the wonderful moments they shared together and acknowledged both their private and public experiences. She affectionately stated that she will continue to hold him dear in her heart.
Courtney also opened up about her health struggles, including chronic fatigue and complications from COVID-19 that have impacted her for the past two years.
