Bigg Boss OTT 2 has been nothing short of a roller-coaster ride, filled with drama and controversies since its premiere on 17 June. Among the contestants, Lebanese model-actor Jad Hadid has stood out for his vocal struggles with the Hindi language, which have affected his game inside the house.
In a candid heart-to-heart with fellow contestant Bebika Dhurve, Jad opened up about his frustrations and despondency over not being able to understand Hindi. He expressed feeling sidelined when other housemates converse in Hindi, leaving him feeling disconnected and isolated. Jad shared his exhaustion and admitted that he has never experienced such drama in his life before. Despite his best efforts to absorb the language and fit in, the constant language barrier has left him feeling drained and disheartened.
“I am low on energy, tired. I have never had this much drama in my life. I am working hard to absorb it all and trying to get along with it,” Jad Hadid confessed to Bebika. In response, Bebika empathized with him, acknowledging the stress he was going through.
One of the major challenges Jad Hadid faced was the language divide. During group conversations, others would start in English but quickly switch to Hindi, leaving him feeling excluded. His repeated requests for translations only added to his frustration. This led Jad to withdraw, purposely sitting in a corner by himself, feeling like an outsider in his own right.
Despite Bebika’s encouragement to get back on track, Jad seemed to have lost hope, accepting that the show was not his domain, and he was not Indian. He believed that, ultimately, one of his fellow contestants would win, not him.
Jad Hadid has not been a stranger to controversies during his stay in the Bigg Boss house. Early on, he made headlines for a lip-lock with ex-contestant and actress Akanksha Puri, and he didn’t hold back in expressing his opinion about her kissing abilities, leading to criticism from host Salman Khan. Later, actor-filmmaker Pooja Bhatt also called him out for making others uncomfortable with his closeness.
Another significant event that brought attention to Jad was when his BFF Jiya Shankar chose Avinash Sacdev over him during a task. While Jad had been a strong supporter of Jiya throughout, she accused him of playing a diplomatic game and cited repaying Avinash’s favors as the reason behind her decision.
