Shoaib Akhtar, the well-known Pakistani cricketer, is just as famous in India as he is in his home country. Despite being retired now, he was an exceptional fast bowler during his active career and also has connections with Bollywood. Want to know who these connections are? Well, it’s none other than the top Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
In a recent conversation, Shoaib revealed a significant bond between himself and these two Bollywood superstars – SRK and Salman. According to Times Now News, during a chat with comedian Sorabh Pant, Shoaib Akhtar mentioned that he owes his stardom to Salman and Shah Rukh as he used to imitate them all the time. Additionally, he mentioned imitating the run-ups of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. Shoaib said, “Salman Khan has always been my favorite, and I also admire Shah Rukh. I have to thank both of them because without them, I wouldn’t have become a star. I used to imitate Salman and Shah Rukh all the time. I also imitated Waqar Younis’ run-up and Wasim Akram as well.”
During the same interview, Shoaib Akhtar disclosed that he had a good relationship with Sachin Tendulkar. He mentioned, “I was really lucky to be friends with Sachin. We got along really well. People might think we were enemies, but that’s not the case.” The Pakistani cricketer also revealed that he had a strong bond with some of his best teammates in the Pakistani dressing room. He said, “I was friends with everyone, especially Afridi, Saqlain, Aju (Azhar Mahmood), and I was the naughtiest during fielding sessions, but in a good way. I used to do mimicry and imitate everyone. We had very few fights.”
