Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s highly-publicized marriage and court trial have been widely discussed on social media. In addition to that, Heard’s relationship with business magnate and Tesla CEO Elon Musk was also in the spotlight. After her breakup with Depp, Heard quickly entered a relationship with Musk, but she wasn’t fully committed to it.
In December 2016, Heard and Musk were linked together, just a few months after she filed for divorce from Depp. They dated for a while, during which Heard struggled to let go of her past relationship baggage. It seems that she couldn’t fully invest herself in the new relationship.
Johnny Depp accused Amber Heard of cheating on him with Elon Musk, but she clarified that she met Musk at the 2016 Met Ball after a major fight with Depp. A forensic psychologist who examined Heard during the defamation trial concluded that she had been a victim of intimate partner violence while being with Depp.
During the psychoanalysis, Dr. Hughes noted that Heard was devastated after her breakup with Depp, and even while being in a relationship with Elon Musk, she felt heartbroken and numb. Text messages presented in the courtroom between Heard and her former agent indicated that she never loved Musk.
Amber complained to her former agent about the media coverage of her and Musk’s breakup, to which he responded that she admitted she was just filling a void. Amber acknowledged this but wanted time to grieve and recover on her own terms. The doctor’s notes state that Amber and Elon ended their relationship in 2018.
According to a Rolling Stone report, Elon Musk commented on the breakup, expressing his pain and claiming that he was truly in love.
After losing the trial to Johnny Depp, Amber Heard has moved to Spain and is leading a quieter life. Despite the controversies, she will be reprising her role as Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, set to be released in December this year.
