Jawan movie review is finally here, but it got delayed due to pending post-production work. However, the wait is over now, and September 7, 2023, marks the day when Shah Rukh Khan has the opportunity to achieve back-to-back 500+ crore grosses in just over seven months.
I attended a packed 6 a.m. show of Jawan, keeping my expectations in check. As an insider, I was advised not to miss the beginning as it is an important sequence. As soon as the National Anthem ended, I settled in to watch.
The movie began a little late, but it didn’t take long for me to get engrossed in the dramatic storytelling style that Atlee is known for. It starts with a train hijack sequence and gradually intertwines with various subplots. Let’s briefly discuss the film until the interval.
Just like Atlee’s previous films like Theri and Bigil, Jawan falls into the same category. It boasts all the elements you can expect from an Atlee and Shah Rukh Khan collaboration. The drama ranges from over the top to just right. Shah Rukh Khan makes multiple entries, emphasizing his grand stardom, similar to how Atlee treats Thalapathy Vijay.
Atlee successfully revolves his narrative around Shah Rukh Khan, ensuring that he remains the centerpiece of the film. The gaps between the action sequences are filled with songs, which do not hinder the flow of the story.
The main story revolves around Vikram Rathore, who is on a mission to correct societal wrongs, seek revenge for his past, and fulfill a promise he made years ago. He faces a ruthless villain who has terrorized many people.
Jawan promises to be a thrilling spectacle with Shah Rukh Khan portraying a dual role and having seven different looks. The film also features special appearances by Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra.
Produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, the film is set to release on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. The second half of the film will determine its success or failure.
